Office Birthday: The Red Carpet Treatment

I didn’t come up with this one. I was just lucky enough to witness it.

Melissa is the one person in the office who loves to celebrate her birthday. She sends out mass emails weeks ahead with her birthday countdown to make sure everyone knows exactly how many days we have left to shop, plan and bake.

Last year her team played a dirty trick and celebrated someone else’s birthday on her special day, so this year had to be all about her.

Someone on her team decided the best way to treat her like a celebrity was to give her a red carpet experience, complete with photo area. You know how celebrities always have their pictures taken in front of walls with logos for whatever event or charity or whatever they’re at?

Like this:

So much awesome. Just add Joss Whedon and watch my head explode.

(Sidenote: While looking for a good example I got completely sucked in to looking at Comic Con photos, then Nathan Fillion photos, then Doctor Who photos. Blogging is hard.)

Well they decided to create a wall like that, but filled with birthday messages. A camera is situated on a tripod to take perfect shots.

Red butcher paper has never looked so fancy.

I have no idea where they got the velvet ropes, but it’s a very nice touch.

And the birthday girl loves it!
